Change is Another Word for Hope
Whether you are feeling depressed or anxious, or feel like you’ve tried everything to improve your life, at Evenson Counseling we can help you find your path – with support, encouragement and compassion. We have all been impacted, both positively and negatively, by our relationships and past experiences. We learned methods of coping to take care of ourselves and others. These patterns of behaviors and thinking may have outlived their usefulness. The same patterns that protected us may now be contributing to our unease, depression, or anxiety.
At Evenson Counseling, we approach therapy as a collaborative process that allows you to reach greater health and happiness. Our focus is on improving how to understand and navigate life’s relationships, stressors and emotional experiences. We utilize an integrated approach to meet your specific needs – helping you create a more balanced life as an individual and in your relationships.

OUR COUNSELORS
Lori Evenson
PHD, LPC-MH, NCC, QMHP, CCTP
I am passionate about helping you realize that a better life is possible. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, or guilt, there is hope. Even though you may have experienced trauma, loss, or grief, this doesn’t define who you are or limit who you can become. You are much more than your experiences. I can help you gain awareness and understanding, learn to have compassion for yourself and others, and fully accept yourself just as you are. Let go of the past, the limiting experiences and outdated beliefs and patterns that prevent you from becoming who you want to be! I am committed to helping you to become mentally healthy and improve your overall wellness.
Richard Culver
LPC-MH, LAC, NCC, QMHP
We often define our place in the world by our decisions, experiences, and interactions with other people — it is easy to lose sight of our sense of agency and to feel stuck in hurtful narratives. I am here to assist you in rewriting the story of your life to better match the true vision of who you are and to allow you to move through life with a firm and confident foundation. As a therapist, I use skills and interventions from narrative theory and systems theory to help you explore your experience and vision of the world and to allow you to reflect on your place in the chaos we call life. My goal as a therapist is to help every client I meet with see themselves as separate from their adverse experiences. I am committed to helping you find your true self and to begin living out your true potential.
Jessica Olson
LPC, NCC, QMHP, PMH-C
Helping people feel seen, heard, and accepted is the goal of my work. I believe these are the building blocks for healing and change. Together we will focus on your strengths and unique personality to manage life’s stresses, build strength to face challenges, and overcome past adversities. Using a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in my practice, I help individuals cope with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and trauma.
Miles Fischer

As human beings, we strive for love and connection. When experiencing times of struggle and uncertainty, individuals deserve a safe space filled with acceptance and compassion to process and grow. I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults who may be struggling with life’s obstacles such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and LGBTQ2S+ wellness. Working to improve coping skills, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance, I use an integrative approach to meet you where you are at and set goals geared towards your aspirations. I am committed to working with you to achieve a happier and healthier life.

I see the counseling space as an intentional time to process life — to be heard and feel validated. I identify primarily as a person-centered counselor, maintaining a congruent and empathic approach, all while viewing clients as capable experts on themselves. I also recognize the difficult times that we currently live in and acknowledge how systems and circumstances greater than ourselves can contribute to daily distress. I also enjoy exploring life’s larger, existential questions and helping clients find their own meaning in life.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in collaboration with my clients. My primary goal is to create an unbiased, empathetic and reflective space where clients feel free to tell their story. I meet clients where they are by listening, centering their unique goals, and helping guide them toward long-lasting changes. My aim is to empower clients to make conscious and intentional choices to create a purposeful life.

Life can be challenging at times and navigating emotional waves can be difficult. I believe that humans have an innate ability to challenge, process, and change their lives in a manner that is shaped by their unique experiences and beliefs. I provide clients with a judgement-free space to meet life’s challenges and learn to steer through turbulent times. I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where each individual is comfortable to express themselves in working toward their goals.
