I am a pre-licensed professional counselor working under the supervision of Dr. Lori Evenson. I graduated from University of Sioux Falls in 2019 with a BA in Psychology and Social Sciences.  I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South Dakota State University in 2023.  I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and am currently working towards licensure in the state of South Dakota.

I am especially interested in working with adults and adolescents who suffer from depression.  I help clients delve into the possible underlying causes of their depression to facilitate recovery from depression.  We also focus on learning new skills to cope with and lessen the symptoms of depression.  

I also work with couples to build and maintain healthy relationships.  My collaborative approach allows couples to focusing on how they can work together to foster communication, empathy, and reflection within their relationship while also meeting their individual needs.  In the therapeutic setting, I create a safe space for examining relational dynamics and facilitate the development of new ways clients can interact with one another.  

 
 

  • I completed my internship at the Avera Behavioral Health Clinic, where I provided individual counseling. I have also worked in the inpatient care setting at Avera Behavioral Health. Starting in 2022, I worked as a Behavioral Health Navigator at Avera, helping patients and their families navigate mental health care services and assure that they were able to receive the care they needed. In this role, I was able to collaborate with clients to meet their mental health care needs and empower them to use therapeutic resources to improve their lives.
