JESSICA OLSON, LPC, NCC, QMHP, PMH-C

I am a licensed professional counselor and qualified mental health professional. I earned my master’s degree from University of the Southwest and undergraduate degree at South Dakota State University.  I have completed training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Foundations and Skills level and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health and Infertility Counseling (PMH-C) with specialized training in infertility, and in pregnancy loss. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Specializing in women’s mental health, I recognize that women need a supportive and empathetic space to work through the emotional complexities of their lives. I help women address their unique challenges, including motherhood, non-motherhood, infertility, perinatal mental health, postpartum depression, grief/loss, anxiety, and trauma.

I also work with children and adolescents who display behavioral and emotional challenges due to trauma.

  • I have over ten years of experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional issues due to trauma. I started my career at Children’s Home Society and Lutheran Social Services in Sioux Falls, and also worked within the SF school district as a behavioral facilitator. Most recently I was a home-based therapist at a community mental health agency where I worked with children and adolescents with issues such as behavioral issues, anger and emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, self-esteem, and peer issues.
